Hello World! Welcome to maroten.com, a little blog that will set to explore my interests in East Asian culture, entertainment and literature! My name is Shaun and this is my first foray into the World Wide Web! Below is a picture of me in an typical mirror shot that almost everyone who owns a DSLR has probably taken.

I built maroten.com with the purpose of combining my interests in the stuff I mentioned above along with my passion for both writing and web design. Having said that, I am very much a beginner in web design so do forgive me if there are any kinks in the code! This is the first theme that I have hand-coded (with the exception of a few plugins and functions), so I do expect some awkwardness here and there. Yup, like many other blogs out there this is a WordPress-powered site!
